FNM Report Playing Valakut Ramp

Posted by admin on September 15th, 2010 and filed under Toys & Games | No Comments »

Hi guys, it’s been a while, since I posted my MTG report because I’ve been busy this past week so without further ado here’s my tournament report for last weeks FNM tournament. I piloted my Valakut Ramp deck in this tournament but forgot to borrow an extra copy of Avenger of Zendikardikar so I only had 2 copies of this card in my deck. Round one: I played against a Vengevine deck, game one took some time as I controlled the board by shooting his creatures with my Valakut but without a creature on my side of the board, he took game one by overruning me with his creatures. Game 2 was fast as he got all the creatures he needed in the early turns to beat me. Round two: I was paired against my teammate who piloted my Mono Green deck. Game One, although he was casting creatures in every turn I won the game with Inferno Titan hitting the game early and he didn’t have overrun or Garruk in his hand. Game 2 was also like game one as Inferno Titan hit early and killed his creatures one by one.

Round 3 was a mirror match, I remember I lost game one because I fetched the wrong land when I used harrow and forgot to get me another forest for my Avenger which I could have played on turn 5. Game two, I mulled down five 5 cards and lost the game after 6 turns. My final match was against an Esper Control deck I beat him game one with Inferno Titan and Valakut going online. In game two I had Siege Gang Commander resolving in turn four and he scoop after that. My record after the tourney was 2-2 good enough for 8th place.

Finding a hobby from a friend

Finding trains o scale as a hobby has been just an accident for me. It was when my friend asked me to do a research about a nice model for toy trains when I was able to look and read regarding miniature train models or trains o scale as it is popularly known of. At first technical terms and jargons made me think twice about knowing more about it. At the end of the day, I loved knowing about it and how wonderful other people engaged in it. While I was making myself familiar to it, it made me closer to my friend who introduced me to the craft.

Ten Feet of Fun

Fun can come in all different shapes and sizes. Fun is also purely objective. What is fun for one person might not be as fun for someone else. One of the best ways to have fun is on a 10 ft trampoline. Trampolines also come in all different shapes and sizes but the ten foot trampoline is by far the most popular. They are so popular because of their size and affordability. Ten foot trampolines can be purchased for less than $300. They are also great because while they provide years of excitement they don’t take up a lot of room in the yard. Fun comes in all shapes and sizes but for a great time look into a ten foot trampoline.

Dream Tower- climb the tower and collect gems

Your task in this fun 3D Super Mario Galaxy-esque Platformer, with towers called Dream Tower is to use the arrow keys to move around the tower. Learn the double jump and smash moves. Even though it was cute and seemed like something a little kid would play, I enjoyed this game more than I expected. It definitely reminded me of Kirby which brought back fun memories. I also liked the enemy variation and the hidden gems that were out of the way to get. Boss fight seemed too simple though and it left me feeling unaccomplished. In the end, pretty good game. Anyone remember a game called “Porky Pigs Haunted Holiday” for SNES? This game reminds me of that. It has the same style of 3d esque platforming.
