Cipro, levaquin and all fluoroquinolone antibiotics should have a black box label to prevent MD’s from handing them out like candy. I personally know four people that have had horrible adverse effects from the drug. Some of these effects don’t start for weeks or months and can be permanent. Check out the fluoroquinolone toxicity research forum. The denial of the medical profession to address this is a tragedy for victims. Even Bayer (the manufacturer admits these horrid effects are from these drugs. Your tendons can rupture, peripheal nerve damage, cardiac damage, and severe anxiety to name a few. If this is brought to the attention of your doctor, you will probably be referred to a shrink. There is a class action lawsuit from the postal workers given cipro for the anthrax scare. They have experienced horrible side effects. How can patients get their doctors out of denial?
I’m sure I won’t win the best answer but……
As with any drug or medical procedure, there are risks and benefits. The side effects that you are talking about are uncommon. The postal workers given the cipro only had mild side effects, mostly gi and resolved. None had the serious effects you were talking about. See: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/EID/vol8no10/02-0346.htm
It is naive to think that doctors are swayed by the drug reps. It would not be worth it to prescribe a contraindicated medication just so I could continue to get pedicures. From experience, many docs hate to see drug reps b/c they slow you down.
Chemotheraphy has cured up to 70% of leukemia, I’m sure no alternative medicine can do that.

Jackie Anderson, an eighth-grader at Central Middle School in Columbia Heights, is the winner of an annual Bookmark Design Contest. Sponsored by the Friends of Anoka County Library, this year’s contest drew 118 bookmark designs from students in grades 6 through 12. Jackie participated in the summer reading program and submitted her design at the Columbia Heights Public Library. Each of the eight Anoka County libraries, along with the Columbia Heights Library, displayed the bookmark designs, and people voted for their favorite. Then each library selected a winner, and Friends of the Library board members voted on those designs to determine the final winner. Jackie’s bookmark is available at all the Anoka County library buildings and the Columbia Heights Public Library.
The state Department of Employment and Economic Development has promoted the week ending today, Oct. 30, as Minnesota Manufacturers Week. Mounds View city officials honored the week by visiting and touring MultiTech Systems, an electronics manufacturer that has been in business in Mounds View since 1989. To prepare for a move that year from a site in New Brighton, MultiTech built a facility totaling 75,000 square feet at 2205 Woodale Drive in Mounds View in 1988. The company built an expansion of 60,000 square feet in Mounds View in 1992, and also has properties in France and the United Kingdom. MultiTech employs 225 people at its Mounds View facility, including 80 in research and development. As explained by Vice President of Manufacturing Del Palacheck, a major product line built by MultiTech includes modems that are used in health care and retail among other industries. After leading Mounds View officials and other guests on a tour of the site, Palacheck spoke more about the company and its relationship with Mounds View. Heidi Steinmetz, Mounds View economic development specialist, led the initiative to arrange a tour at MultiTech. This was the second year city officials have taken a tour of a Mounds View manufacturing business. Steinmetz spoke about the program and Minnesota Manufacturers Week. MultiTech is nearing its 40th anniversary of operations after starting in a small building in Dinkytown in 1970. For about the company, visit their website: www.multitech.com.

School boards.
Younger people were using this night to commit pranks in the neighborhoods. As time went by, the pranks began to escalate into expensive vandalism- and in some cases, violence. The school boards, urged to "do something" by the parents, got together with the town councils to come up with a safe activity for their children. The town council, in turn, got the businesses and locals to all co-operate in giving the children candy, to keep them out of mischief.

i want to but alot of candy in bulk but i dont want to buy from sams club because i need alot of it but if there is any way i can buy right from the distributer or manufacturer
you have to be a distributer yourself to get candy directly from mars/the others…. they have a special ordering code for each customer, and you have to be a business in order to get it.
you could try faking it, but the money you’d save buying direct would be much less than going through the process of getting a corporation set up and all of that.
or, you could try setting up a deal with a locally owned store to get your candy from them at a reduced, almost wholesale price….
